Subject’s naval record

Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Subject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be
corrected to show that the orders assigning Petitioner to Temporary Duty under Instruction
(TEMDUINST) to STU AHS FT S HOUSTON, Fort Sam Houston, TX were modified to
authorized payment of per diem while in TEMDUINST status at Fort Sam Houston, TX..
2. The Board, consisting of Messrs. Brezna, Milner, and Neuschafer, reviewed Petitioner
allegations of error and injustice on 4 September 2002 and, pursuant to its regulations,
determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available
evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.

3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner
of error and injustice, finds as follows:

a. Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies
available under existing law and regulations within the Department of the Navy.
b. After reviewing the correspondence attached as enclosure
that the request has merit and warrants favorable action.

a. A request for authority to pay per diem for the period of TEMDUINST at Fort Sam
Houston, TX was requested under the provisions of JFTR Volume 1, paragraph
and SECNAV approved the request prior to the Petitioner reporting to Fort Sam Houston,
TX.
BuPers orders 3089 were modified prior to reporting to STU AHS FT S HOUSTON
for TEMDUINST to Fort Sam Houston, TX to authorize per diem for period of
TEMDUINST at Fort Sam Houston, TX, 1 January 2000 through 30 March 2000.
Government quarters were available; however, government dining facilities were not
available.

(NOTE: Petitioner should go to the closest facility which can compute travel vouchers and
ask them to compute monies due for this action.
Petitioner must present to the Agency
