1. Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), 
Subject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be
corrected to show the orders reassigning her to the 
USNS San Jose were modified to include
reimbursement of use of rental car while waiting for the USNS San Jose to arrive in Guam.

2. The Board, consisting of Messrs. 
allegations of error and injustice on 30 May 2001 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined
that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available evidence of
record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the enclosures, naval
records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.

3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner’s allegations
of error and injustice, finds as follows:

a. Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies

available under existing law and regulations within the Department of the Navy.

In correspondence attached as enclosure 

(2), the office having cognizance over the

subject matter addressed in Petitioner’s application has commented to the effect that the
request has merit and warrants favorable action.

Upon review and consideration of all the evidence of record,

That Petitioner ’s naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to show that:

a. On 14 July 2000 

BuPers order 1950 which reassigned Petitioner to the T-AFS San
Jose, was modified to authorize the use of a rental car while awaiting arrival of the T-AFS
the Petitioner flew to Guam to join the
San Jose in Guam. The ship was on deployment and 
ship. (NOTE: Petitioner should go to the closest facility which can compute travel vouchers
and ask them to compute monies due for this action. Petitioner must present to the Agency
computing the money due a copy of all previous vouchers pertaining to the travel

join the ship, a copy of each receipt pertaining to the cost for rental of the car, a copy of the
orders assigning Petitioner to the T-AFS San Jose, and a copy of this letter. The Agency
