Issues: The applicant states, "I joined the after I graduated from high school, and I deeply regret losing out on an active-duty career. It pains me to watch friends and loved ones keep deploying, while I am not there to share the burden. During my short stay at Ft Jackson, upon calling home one weeked, my sister told me that my step father at the time threatened to kill my mother if she leaved him. Being my mother only son, I felt that i need to get home, So I threatened to kill myself, so I could get discharged. I was discharged 12/2003, and it wasn't until 4yrs later in 2007, my step father actually tried to kill my mother, by stabbing her several times. Even though I got discharged from the military, thinking that my step father will be detered if I am home, he still tried to kill her one night while I was home. Here I'm 7 yrs later, 7 classes short of obtaining a BS in Computer Information System with a concentration in Network Security and I'm still having regrets about the discussion I have made in 2003, to get discharged."

a. Facts and Circumstances:
