		IN THE CASE OF:

		BOARD DATE:	  12 February 2015

		DOCKET NUMBER:  AR20140011448

THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE:

1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any).

2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any).

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1. The applicant requests a second Valorous Unit Award be added to his DD
Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty).

2. The applicant states the second Valorous Unit Award was authorized after he was released from active duty.

3.  The applicant provides:

* DD Form 214
* DD Form 215 (Correction to DD Form 214)
* two Permanent Orders (PO)
* Officer Record Brief
* Deployment Orders

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1. The applicant was commissioned in the Regular Army on 26 May 2007. He was honorably released from active duty 9 September 2012.

2. A DA Form 67-9 (Officer Evaluation Report) (OER) covering the rated period of 1 May 2011 through 30 April 2012 shows the applicant as being assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment.

3. PO Number 178-01, dated 27 June 2013, issued by Headquarters, U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), awarded the Valorous Unit Award to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment for extraordinary heroism during the period 18 June 2011 to 9 May 2012.

4. DD Form 215, issued on 13 November 2013, added a previous Valorous Unit Award, as supported by PO Number 002-07, dated 2 January 2013, issued by Headquarters, HRC.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

The Valorous Unit Award was awarded to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment for the period 18 June 2011 to 9 May 2012. An OER shows the applicant served with this unit during the qualified period. He is therefore authorized this award and it should be added to his DD Form 214. This will be his second Valorous Unit Award.

BOARD VOTE:
