CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant retired in the rank/grade of sergeant first class (SFC)/E-7 after completing 20 years and 24 days of creditable active Federal service. His chain of command recognized his exceptionally meritorious service with award of the MSM. 9th Mission Support Command, Fort Shafter, dated 22 June 2009.

3. Army Regulation 635-5 (Separation Documents) prescribes the separation documents that must be prepared for Soldiers on retirement, discharge, release from active duty service, or control of the Active Army. It states that awards and decorations for all periods of service in the priority sequence specified in Army Regulation 600-8-22 (Military Awards) will be entered on the DD Form 214. Each entry will be verified by the Soldiers records.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:
The applicant was awarded the MSM as a retirement award, but it was not entered on the DD Form 214. Therefore, his DD Form 214 should be corrected to show this award
