The applicant entered active duty on 15 April 1981 and served as a personnel specialist until he was honorably separated by reason of disability from active duty on 31 July 1996.
The applicant's DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) shows the applicant served 5 years, 5 months, and 3 days of foreign service. However, there is no indication on the DD Form 214 regarding where this foreign service was performed.
Item 13 (Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations and Campaign Ribbons Awarded or Authorized) of his DD Form 214 shows award of the Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze service stars, the Kuwait Liberation Medal awarded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal awarded by the Government of Kuwait.
