         The Board convened at the call of the Director on the above date to reconsider the conclusions and recommendation appearing in proceedings dated 2 August 2001.

THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY FINDS:

11. PERSCOM Awards Branch located a copy of Headquarters, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) General Orders Number 2230, dated 16 March 1971. This
General Order awarded the applicant the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service during the period May 1970 to March 1971.

THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY CONCLUDES:

5. At the time of the Board’s 2 August 2001 decision in this case, it was the intent of the Board to make the applicant’s record as administratively correct as it should properly have been at the time.

6. In view of the additional factors in this case the applicant is entitled to correction of his record to show he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal by Headquarters, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) General Orders Number 2230, dated 16 March 1971.

7. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as
recommended below.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS:

That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be further corrected by adding to paragraph 1 of the Board’s recommendation appearing in the proceedings AR2001055887, dated 2 August 2001, to show that the individual was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
