         The applicant and counsel if any, did not appear before the Board.

         The Board considered the following evidence:

         Exhibit A - Application for correction of military
records
         Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including
         advisory opinion, if any)

FINDINGS :

1. The applicant has exhausted or the Board has waived the requirement for exhaustion of all administrative remedies afforded by existing law or regulations.


2. The applicant requests that his two awards of the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) be added to his Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, DD Form 214.

3. The applicant states that his second ARCOM was not included in his records but his first one was.

4. The applicant’s military records show that he enlisted in the Regular Army on 7 October 1994. He was awarded the ARCOM basic on Permanent Order (PO) 36-7, Headquarters, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center dated 5 February 1997. He was awarded the ARCOM 1st oak leaf cluster on PO 129-5, Headquarters, William Beaumont Army Medical Center dated 9 May 2001 (after he was separated).

5. The applicant was released from active duty on 6 October 2000. Neither ARCOM is listed on his DD Form 214.

CONCLUSIONS:

1. The evidence of record shows that the applicant was awarded two awards of the ARCOM and they should be added to his DD Form 214.

2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the applicant’s DD Form 214 be amended to add the Army Commendation Medal 1st oak leaf cluster.
