2.  The applicant requests that his records be corrected to show that he was separated on 31 August 1994, with 24 years, 1 month and 2 days of active service.

3.  During the period 27 September 1967-1 May 1969 (1 year, 7 months and 5 days of creditable service), the applicant was on active duty in the Army of the United States (AUS).

4.  On 24 March 1972, he enlisted in the Regular Army (RA) and continued his active service until his separation.

5.  On 31 August 1994, he was honorably separated under AR 635-200, chapter 12, sufficient service for retirement.  The following day, 1 September 1994, he was placed on the retired list.  His Report of Separation indicates that he had 24 years and 13 days of creditable service.

CONCLUSIONS:

1.  The evidence of record clearly shows that the applicant had a total of 24 years and 13 days of active duty, combined service in the AUS and the RA. 

2.  In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s record should be changed as sown below.

RECOMMENDATION:

That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be corrected by showing that the applicant had   24 years and 13 days of active service, upon retirement.
