Evidence of record shows that on 15 May 2002, the applicant requested discharge under the provisions of Chapter 6-3B(2), AR 635-200, for hardship/dependency of family member. The unit commander recommended approval. The intermediate commanders reviewed the proposed discharge action and recommended approval of the separation action with an honorable discharge. The record contains a properly constituted DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty). His DD Form 214 indicates that he was discharged under the provisions of Chapter 6-3B(2), AR 635-200 by reason of parenthood, with a characterization of service of honorable (HD). Furthermore, the DD Form 214 shows a separation code of KDG (i.e., parenthood). The complete facts and circumstances leading to the applicant’s discharge are not contained in the available records. b. On 21 June 2002, the applicant was discharged.
