BOARD DATE: 20 November 2014 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20140006781 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests her DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) be amended. 2. The applicant states her military education is incorrectly shown in block 14 (Military Education) as Radar Repairer School. 3. The applicant provides: * DD Form 214 * first page of a DA Form 3286 (Statement of Enlistment United States Army Enlistment Program) * military occupational specialty (MOS) award orders * DA Form 669 (Army Continuing Education System Record) * marriage license CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. Records show the applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 4 August 2010. She completed combat and advanced individual training and was awarded the MOS 35M (Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector). The highest rank/grade she attained while on active duty was private first class/E-3. She was honorably released from active duty on 29 December 2013. 2. Item 14 of her DD Form 214 lists the applicant's military education as 35M - Radar Repairer School Course, 24 weeks, 2011. 3. The Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) website lists all Army training courses available and provides scheduling. It shows the 35M1O HUMINT Collector course as a resident program, duration of 18 weeks and 3 days. 4. Department of the Army Pamphlet 600-25 (U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Guide) provides a list of all Army MOS. It confirms the MOS title for 35M is HUMINT Collector. It also shows Radar Repairer is MOS 94M. 5. Army Regulation 635-8 (Separation Processing and Documents) provides guidance for the completion of the DD Form 214. Regarding what information to place in block 14, it requires all formal, in-service (full time attendance) training courses successfully completed during the period of service covered. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: 1. The records clearly show the applicant's MOS was 35M, HUMINT Collector, not Radar Repairer (MOS 94M). 2. The ATRRS system shows the entry-level 35M1O course as 18 weeks and 3 days in duration. 3. The applicant's DD Form 214 should be amended to show the correct military education she completed as well as the actual course length. As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of the Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by amending her DD Form 214 to show the applicant's military education as 35M - Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector Course, 18 weeks and 3 days, 2011. _______ _ X_______ ___ CHAIRPERSON I certify that herein is recorded the true and complete record of the proceedings of the Army Board for Correction of Military Records in this case.
