THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests that Section A, item 7 (Previous Military Service Upon Enlistment-Reenlistment) of his DD Form 4 (Enlistment/Reenlistment Document-Armed Forces of the United States), dated 19 August 2008, be corrected by adding his prior active military service. 2. The applicant states when he enlisted in the Army the person who prepared his DD Form 4 omitted his 4 years, 3 months, and 13 days of prior active service in the U.S. Navy (USN). 3. The applicant provides: * DD Form 4, pages 4/1 through 4/2 dated 19 August 2008 * DD Form 1966, pages 1966/1 through 1966/6 (Record of Military Processing Armed Forces of the United States), dated 19 August 2008 * DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) for the period ending 14 January 2007 CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant is currently serving in the Regular Army. 2. The applicant enlisted in the USN on 2 October 2002. He was honorably released from active duty on 14 January 2007 and transferred to the U.S. Naval Reserve (USNR). 3. Item 12b (Net Active Service this Period) of the applicant’s DD Form 214 shows the entry "4" year(s), "3" month(s), and "13" day(s). 4. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 19 August 2008. 5. Section A of the applicant's DD Form 4, dated 19 August 2008, shows in item 7a (Total Active Military Service) the entry "0" years, "0" months, and "0" days; and item 7b (Total Inactive Military) shows the entry "0" years, "0" months, and "0" days. Section B shows in item 8 the applicant enlisted in the Army for 5 years and 29 weeks. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: Evidence of record shows prior to the applicant's enlistment in the Army on 19 August 2008, he served 4 years, 3 months, and 13 days active duty in the USN and 1 year, 7 months, and 3 days of inactive military service in the USNR. Therefore, his DD Form 4 should be corrected to show 4 years, 3 months, and 13 days of active military service and 1 year, 7 months, and 3 days of inactive military service in item 7a and item 7b.
