IN THE CASE OF: BOARD DATE: 21 January 2010 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20090014187 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests that multiple transcripts from a college be removed from her official military personnel file (OMPF). 2. The applicant states that she has been trying to update her records prior to promotion board consideration by having the older transcripts from the college removed and leaving the most recent transcripts therein. She states that when she contacted Army officials to have the duplicates removed she was told that they could not be removed because they are dated differently. She states that some transcripts are older than others and need to be removed. 3. The applicant provides an electronic mail message from an Army official pertaining to her transcripts, dated 30 July 2009; a transcript from Cochise College, dated 28 June 2005; and a transcript from Cochise College, dated 31 August 2005. CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 4 January 1999 and is currently serving on active duty in the rank of sergeant first class. 2. The applicant provided copies of Cochise College transcripts issued on 28 June 2005 and 31 August 2005 which show her last semester as the Fall semester in 2004. Her cumulative credits totaled 85.00. 3. A review of the applicant’s OMPF on the interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System revealed copies of Cochise College transcripts dated 28 June 2005, 11 August 2005, and 5 October 2005. 4. Army Regulation 600-8-104 (Military Personnel Information Management/ Records) provides policies, operating tasks, and steps governing the OMPF. Table 2-1 of this Army regulation shows that transcripts of credit from civilian colleges are filed in the performance section of the OMPF. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: 1. The applicant contends, in effect, that the Cochise College transcripts dated 31 August 2005 and 28 June 2005 should be removed from her OMPF. 2. The evidence of record supports the applicant's contention that there are multiple Cochise College transcripts filed on her OMPF. However, they all reflect different dates and they are properly filed in accordance with the applicable regulation. There is no viable reason for removing the documents from her OMPF. To the contrary, the appearance of multiple, differently-dated transcripts in her OMPF give the impression that she is making steady progress on attaining a college degree. 3. In order to justify correction of a military record, the applicant must show or it must otherwise satisfactorily appear that the record is in error or unjust. The applicant has failed to submit evidence that would satisfy this requirement. 4. In view of the foregoing, there is no basis for granting the applicant's request.
