IN THE CASE OF: BOARD DATE: 20 January 2010 DOCKET NUMBER: AR20090011938 THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: 1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any). 2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any). THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant requests, in effect, correction of his DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty), item 14 (Military Education), to show he completed the Primary Leadership Development Course in 2008. 2. The applicant states that the year shown for his completion of the Primary Leadership Development Course was erroneously entered in item 14 of his DD Form 214 as 2007. He also states that the transition office had an Enlisted Record Brief (ERB) that had the wrong date. He updated it on the ERB, but it was overlooked at the time. 3. The applicant provides copies of his DA Form 1059 (Service School Academic Evaluation Report) and his DD Form 214 in support of his application. CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE: 1. The applicant's military record shows he enlisted in the Regular Army in pay grade E-1 on 13 July 2005 for 4 years. He completed training and was awarded military occupational specialty 92A, Automated Logistics Specialist. 2. The applicant submitted a copy of his DA Form 1059, dated 30 August 2008, that shows he attended the Warrior Leader Course [formerly known as the Primary Leadership Development Course] from 1 July 2008 to 30 July 2008 and completed the course. 3. The applicant's ERB, dated 15 March 2009, Section VI - Military Education, shows he completed the Warrior Leader Course in 2008. 4. The applicant was honorably released from active duty in pay grade E-4 on 12 July 2009 and transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve Control Group (Reinforcement). Item 14 of his DD Form 214 shows he completed the Primary Leadership Development Course in 2007. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: 1. The evidence confirms the applicant attended the Warrior Leader Course from 1 July 2008 to 30 July 2008. Therefore, it is concluded he is entitled to correction of his DD Form 214, item 14, to show "Warrior Leader Course, 4 weeks, 2008." 2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant's records should be corrected as recommended below.
