The applicant requests that his DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge, be corrected to reflect that he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM), the Air Assault Badge and completed the Air Assault School. 3. In support of his request he provides a copy of the ARCOM Certificate provided to him after he was discharged from the service. 4. The applicant’s record shows that he received the first award of the ARCOM on 30 October 1990. He received the second award on 10 December 1993. 5. Orders in the his military personnel file indicate that he completed the Air Assault Training Course and was awarded the Air Assault Badge on 11 December 1992. CONCLUSIONS: 1. Documents provided by the applicant and those already existing in his records show that he is entitled to award of the ARCOM with 1st oak leaf cluster. 2. Similarly, his record contains evidence that he completed the Air Assault Training Course and was awarded the Air Assault Badge. 3. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below. RECOMMENDATION: That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be corrected: a. by showing the individual concerned was awarded the ARCOM with 1st oak leaf cluster and the Air Assault Badge; and b. by showing that he completed the Air Assault School on 11 December 1992.
